The Power of the Calendar

This week, you’ll need to invest in a 12 month calendar. You will need a paper one so that you can put it somewhere in plain sight. Then start dreaming! Write down your goal at the end of the year, then set monthly benchmarks to keep you focused.

Be very specific. For example, if you want to lose 40 pounds by the end of the year, you’ll need to divide it by 12 months. Then mark your benchmark weight (40/12 = 3.33), exercise and dietary goals at the beginning of each month.

Maybe your goal is to start an online business. Set a monetary goal for the end of the year, and come up with a business plan for the next 12 months such as setting benchmarks for the end of each month in terms of business contacts, website development, how much you need to make each month etc.

Post the calendar somewhere you can see it each day, and make notes about your progress.


Last week I decided to use this blog and a forum a frequent as my accountability methods!

This weeks exercise really helped me to break my goals down into pieces! I was able to look at my milestones month by month and consider what I’ll have to do to make it happen.
